When the Fishing Gets Tough the Best in Fishing Get Busy.
Chippewa
Falls, Wis. – When the fishing gets tough the best in fishing get busy.
NITRO® Pro Kevin VanDam won the last stop on the BASS E50 Trail making it two in a row and winning the E50 championship for the 2nd year in a row.
With
the fishing tough for all competitors, Kevin managed to bring to the scales a total of 14 pounds, 12 ounces to win by a margin of 2 pounds.
“Mentally
this was the toughest tournament I have had to fish. It was so hard to get any kind of thing going, but it doesn’t matter if you win by an ounce or a thousand pounds the end result is all the same.”
“I
think the most important factor for me winning this event was to keying on the smallmouth bass. When I first started fishing, I fished lakes like Wissota and they were mainly smallmouth lakes.”
“With the new format coming out next year I can say that I am the one and only Champion ever of the E50 series, that’s something to be proud of.”
“Now
that the E50’s are over, its on to bigger and better things… The Classic”
“
I’m really looking forward to fishing in Pittsburgh. I tend to do better in the tough tournaments and I have a feeling this will be one of them. I like fishing river systems in the summer and it has smallmouths in it, which is another bonus for me. I don’t quite know what to expect there but we are going to scout it next week during the official practice. I will get a good chance to look it over then, and I am really looking forward to it. It’s my kind of fishing and it sure doesn’t hurt to have won two tournaments in a row!”
Other
news coming out of Lake Wissota was who made the Bassmaster Classic. NITRO® Boats will have a strong presence in this year’s Classic with six qualifiers.
Kevin
VanDam, Rick Clunn, Edwin Evers, Stacey King, Jeff Reynolds and Rookie Greg Gutierrez.
Good
luck to all of the NITRO® Pros in the Bassmaster Classic.
